Mike Turner

Michael Turner is an experienced researcher and biotechnology executive with more than 20 years of broad immunology experience across immuno-oncology, inflammation/autoimmune and allergy. Prior to joining Metaphore Bio, Michael was the Vice President of Immunology at TuHURA Bioscience and Third Harmonic Bio as well as Vice President of Exploratory Biology/Immunology at Ventus/SMOC Therapeutics. His early career was spent at Sanofi Genzyme and Alkermes Inc where he contributed to multiple IND submissions and the successful approvals of LemtradaTM and VumerityTM, both for the treatment of Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis (RMS).

Michael received his PhD at the University of Rochester in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology with Dr. John Frelinger, focusing on tumor immunotherapy. He continued his training as a Postdoctoral Fellow studying T cell biology and immune tolerance at the University of Connecticut Health Center as a Ruth L. Kirschstein NIH Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Leo Lefrancois.
